MINUTES OF THE MEETING


The July 2004 meeting of the Panhandle Bass Club was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on July 7, 2004.
The meeting was held at the Founaris Brothers on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Fred Raby.

OLD BUSINESS:


The raffle ticket drawing will be at the August meeting, so don't forget to bring them with you to the meeting.
The 50/50 draw was won by Chris Malena this month, way to go Chris.
Several items were auctioned off this month, tackle bags, spinner bait box, a light, and boxes for jerk baits.
Mack and Walter are the proud new owners.
If anyone has anything that they would like to auction off, be sure and bring it to the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:


The Panhandle Bass Club would like to welcome aboard their newest member, Dave Rogers.
He was sponsored by Rich Cornelius. Just a reminder, please try to have an appetite when you come to the meetings, or be very thirsty, or both.
The idea was brought to the floor about changing the meeting location, everyone seemed to be satisfied with Founaris Brothers so that's where we will stay, unless something happens in the future.
October is just around the corner, so if you think you might want to take an office position on the E-Board,
please give it some thought. New faces on the board mean new ideas.
You can contact Rich or Fred or just bring it up at one of the meetings.
"Safety Note", it's hot this time of year so make sure you have plenty of water with you during a tournament.
For the fish, make sure your live well pumps are working as they should be, we want to be able to keep those bass alive for release, so they can be caught another day.

July Tournament:

The July tournament was held out of Mt. Vernon Landing on the Mobile River. We had 13 members present to fish at safe day light and 7 guests riding along.
The rivers were stained to muddy, the tide was going out and it was hot. A few thunder clouds were seen off to the south with light shows. Most of the guys went towards the Ten Saw lake area, and a few went north.
One of our guys had Engine problems and as usual, Mack Cramer was around to help out in a time of distress, every club needs a Mack Cramer. At the weigh-in, it turned out to be a tough day, only 30 fish were weighed in including the guest's fish. Wayne Thomley took the big fish honors with a 4.08 lb large mouth, he seems to do that quite often. Wayne also finished 3rd in the tournament with a total of 5.26 lbs.
Billy Blackwell took second with 4 fish weighing 5.79 lbs and Rich Cornelius finished 1st with 7 fish that weighed 14.76 lbs. Being at the right place at the right time made for a great day for Rich.
