Minutes of

at Founaris Brothers Restaurant.
President Jeff Weaver presided over the meeting. There were 21 members
present.

The Treasurer's report was given and accepted. The Booray Pot was won by Don
Jahnke last month at Lake Seminole with a 6.41 Hawg! Booray Pot started
over for the April Tournament for the biggest fish over5 pounds caught
during a Hawg Hunter Tournament. See Bill Myrick for specific details.
New Business:
50/50
Drawing was held
Half to Buddy Yatesand the other half to the Special Fund.
Thanks
were giving for the Volunteers who cooked and cleaned up last month at Lake
Seminole. Even though it rained it was a great success. Volunteers
wereselected for the Cookout of Fried Chicken and the entire Fix ins
for Lake Jordan.
Safety Corner:
In the spirit of Vehicle Safety Jeff Weaver gave a presentation on a Wireless
Tire Pressure Monitoring System made by Tire Minder. The transmitters
are screwed into the valve stems of the tires for your vehicle or trailer so
you can monitor the tire pressures while driving down the road. The system
gives you an early warning of an impending failure of a tire that's being
monitored. For more information on this safety device see
www.minderresearch.com.
Cell
Phones lists were handed out.....good idea to keep in the boat with you in
case you have trouble on the water.
(or need to verify weigh-in time)
Between
last month and this month
.seems quite a few things have been happening to
our club members or their families.
The club sent flowers from the special fund to Ken who was in the
hospital with a broken leg. Well
wishes go out to Buddy Yates and his family while we hope his son is on a
speedy recovery from his injuries.
Tonys Boyetts family is having a crisis of their own along with Don
Jahnke and his family. Keep these
club members and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
Notes:
From The Tournament Director
The Escambia river is being dredged from Gulf Power down to the Smiths Fish
Camp so be careful and give way to the dredging crew.
Kudos to our President
Jeff who secured rooms for us in Prattville at the Baymont Inn. Due to the unavailability of rooms over in
Wetumpka the ramp for Lake Jordan was changed to Bonners Landing.
Last reminder-Dont forget
If you are a boater and wish to stay
overnight for the Millers Ferry Tournament in May, YOU need to make your own
reservation for the motel room.
Call Southern Inn @ (334) 682-4148
The March tournament results were given. Great job to the top 4 last month.
The Caravan was scheduled to leave Wal-Mart on Hwy 29 at 3:30am Friday
morning.
The Meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
April
Tournament:
The
April Tournament was held on Lake Jordan at Bonners Landing. We had 15 members fishing out of 8 boats for
the two day tournament. Saturdays
launch was very eventful with a full launch ramp. Rumor had it there was one other club of
30 boats launching same as us. Well
come Launch time there must have been 4 clubs of 30 boats so most of us got
in the water late. Pre-fish day
started out with temps in the mid 70s then dropped down to 50 and rain. Saturday morning at launch time the temperature
dropped all the way to 39 degrees and sunny.
Typical Hawg Hunter tournament
.cold front comes through just before we
start fishing.
Saturdays
weighing saw all 15 club members catching fish with Ron Bridges taking Big
Fish honors with a 2.84 lunker.
108
fish from 15 anglers found them self being weighed in at the scales for a
total of 106.65 pounds. 2 didnt
survive the boat ride in raising our total for the year to 3 dead fish.
As for limits we had 9 limits, 4 members
one short of a limit, 1 member with 3 fish and 1 with 2 fish. Not only did everyone have a golf ball fish
but
we all made it out of the one fish category.
Saturday Top Six Results:
1st
Dave Dyess - 5 fish 9.68 lbs
2nd
Thom Labelle 5 fish 8.55 lbs
3rd
Mack Cramer 5 fish 8.32 lbs
4th
Jere Jailitte 5 fish 8.3 lbs
5th
Ron Bridges 5 fish 7.81 lbs
6th
Lee Brannon 5 fish 7.76 lbs
Sunday
morning we all got to the lake earlier and found the launch ramp all to
ourselves. Temps were a little warmer
in the low 50s to start. Come weigh-in
time
..that would be 1:00pm for a Sunday on a two day tournament according to
the Tournament Rule 3a
.we were missing two
boats. We would of
conducted weigh-in
but one of the missing boats was Bill Myrick our
Tournament Director and he had all the scales locked up in his truck. I feel a slammer nomination coming
In fact
Ill go ahead and Nominate Bill Myrick right now for the Slammer Award for
being late to his own weigh-in. As I
was running south to get to the weigh-in in time I saw him running north. He even waved at us
..I thought he was
going to help someone out
.turns out he was thinking the weigh-in was at
2pm. 2pm weigh-ins are reserved for the hot months on our one
day tournaments IAW tournament rule 3a.

2nd Place
Mack Cramer
Macks two day total of 10 fish tipped the scales at 16.14

.just .01 pound more than his last tournament. By the way, that same .01 pound kept him
out of 1st place last month.

ahead of second place.
Congratulations Mack!!!

Bryan with a Y took 3rd place by catching limits on
both days for a total weight of 14.78 pounds.
With this 3rd place finish Bryan jumps up one spot to 4th

having a strong 1st half this year catching a total of 25 fish
during 6 tournaments. We better watch
this guy.
Congratulations Bryan!!!

Results:
We had a total of 15 members and no guests fishing the two day tournament with
everyone catching fish on Saturday and Sunday although 4 members were
disqualified for being late to Sundays weigh-in. Rumor had it 3 of them had limits too.
Big fish honors of the tournament went to Dave Dyess with a 3.67
pound fish.
Total fish caught was 108 weighing 166.65 pounds. Thats a 1.54 pound average for the club
and 7.2 fish per person. Could have
been a 8.2 fish per person average if we were on the
Eastern Time Zone.
On the yearly standing we had 9 people advance and 10 declines. Biggest mover was Dave Dyess up 6 places. Remember you have to fish to advance in
the standings. Make your plans now
