Tournament Rules
Kevin Simmons
Rule 1:
1. In order
to receive credit for fishing a club tournament, a member must be in good
standing, tournament fees paid and actually fish the tournament, ( Defined as
launching boat and having boat number called out).
Members who
pay their fees and do not fish the tournament will receive their points but
will not receive credit for the tournament as one of the previous 6 tournaments
fished to qualify for the fish-off, however, the $5.00 contribution paid will
count towards the fish-off.
2011 Change:
Rule
1:
1. Fishing a tournament day is defined as launching the boat and having boat number called out.
a. To receive credit for fishing a one day club tournament and receive fishing points, a member must be in good standing, tournament fees paid and fish the tournament.
b. To receive credit for fishing a two day tournament and receive full two day fishing points, a member must be in good standing, tournament fees paid, and fish BOTH days of the tournament. If a member only fishes one day of a two day tournament, the member will receive credit for fishing the entire tournament, however; only receive points for the day actually fished.
c. A member who pays their fee, but does not fish the tournament will receive their fishing points but will not receive credit for the tournament as one of the previous 6 tournaments fished to qualify for the fish-off, however, the $5.00 contribution paid will count towards the fish-off. The member will be included in the normal tournament draw as a non-boater and expected to be responsible for ½ the boaters expense for such things as gas for the boat and truck, oil and motel room, if necessary. The boater will make the decision if the expenses are to be paid by the non-boater. The club will not be responsible for any expenses.
Reason
This better defines how credit for tournaments and fishing points are awarded. It also allows a member who wants to buy their fishing points to buy them just like everyone else that is fishing the tournament. Pay the tournament fee AND ½ the fishing expense.
