Minutes of the Meeting:

The June 2003 meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. on June 16, 2003. The meeting was held at the Seafood Shanty on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Dave Dyess. There were 19 members present.

Members Of The Board:

President

Dave Dyess
Vice President/Treasure
Pete Potter
Secretary
Rich Carnelius
Tournament Director
Neil Springstead
Asst. Tournament Director
John Buck

Old Business:

There was no old business discussed.

New Business:

Dave Dyess brought in a couple of items for our monthly auction, two first aid kits. Everyone should carry one of these in their boats, you never know when you might need it.
Walter McCartney and Dwayne Mills purchased the kits.
The E-Board held a quick meeting prior to the club meeting to discuss changing the launch site due to high water conditions at Mt. Vernon landing, the decision was unanimous to have it changed to Hurricane landing on the Tensaw river.
Election time will be here soon,
the club would like to see some new faces on the E-board for next season, so be thinking about possibly running for a position or nominating someone for a position.
The club secretary position will be one of the seats to fill.

In Memory Of
"Jack Maher"

Jack was a life member of the Pensacola HawgHunters and a past club president.
He will be greatly missed.

JuneTournament:

The June tournament was held on the Tensaw River out of Hurricane Landing . Once again the owners of Hurricane landing were very helpful with the launching of boats and the hospitality was great. There were 19 Hawg Hunters present to fish at safe daylight. The main river was muddy and the creeks were stained to clear, the tide was coming in most of the day.
The temp was in the mid 80's and it was mostly cloudy till mid morning when the sun finally popped out. The wind was calm which was a change for once, and we were fortunate enough not to get hammered by the every day summer thunderstorms that pop up.
The bite was fairly slow but the little one's were hungry, getting a keeper to hit was the problem for most.

Two limits were caught, Brian and Ron were the fortunate one's.Good job guy's.

The big fish of the day went to Jeff Weaver, a 3.95 pound bucket mouth, Jeff was probably throwing a chugbug knowing him. Topwater baits and plastics worked the best .
