Minutes of the Meeting:

The April 2003 meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. on April 16, 2003. The meeting was held at the Seafood Shanty on
Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Dave Dyess.
There were 19 members present.

Members Of The Board:

President

Dave Dyess
Vice President/Treasure
Pete Potter
Secretary
Rich Carnelius
Tournament Director
Neil Springstead
Asst. Tournament Director
John Buck

Old Business:

John Buck brought samples of new hats and shirts to the club meeting. After discussing the colors and prices, the club voted on the khaki w/ forrest green bill hat. The hat will cost around $15.00, wich includes the logo and tax. The shirts are cabellos safari shirts, long sleeve or short sleeve, they will cost anywhere from $73.00 to $78.00 depending on wich one you order. This includes the your name and monogram. Some of the guys have already put in orders for shirts and hats, so be sure and bring a little extra cash to the next meeting. Thanks to John for doing the research and ordering, we appreciate it.
Wayne Thomley brought in two tackle boxes and a large can of worms, plastic of course, to be auctioned off. Jack Maher and Rich Cornelius acquired the tackle boxes and Dave Dyess added to his worm collection. Thanks Wayne for the contribution.

New Business:

During the tournaments, we should all be considerate to the guys in the back, the rules explain everything in black and white. If a boater does not allow the non-boater his rights according to the rules, a protest can be filed, so be a good sport and abide by the rules.
No other new business was discussed.

April Tournament:

The April tournament was held on the Tensaw River out of the Cliff's Landing. There were twenty Hawg Hunters present to fish when the Tournament Director blasted us off. It was very foggy first thing in the morning but it lifted in a short time. The river was still high and badly stained and most creeks and lakes were the same. About noon the wind picked up considerably out of the south, making the main river rough to run, especially around gravine island. The bite was really tough for most, only two limits were brought to the scales come weigh in time. Good job to Brian and Pete. Brian also had big fish for the day, a nice 3.35 big mouth.
Maybe next time we fish Tensaw the conditions will be back to normal but don't count on it.

Nominations for "Slammer"
