According to the Pensacola Hawg Hunters Constitution and By-Laws, Article II, Section 2, Paragraph b: Members failing to attend one half of annual club functions or failing to attend six consecutive club functions without notice, will result in removal from membership. Stacy Blackburn is no longer a member on the Pensacola Hawg Hunters.

New Business:

Randy Cole and Ken Langford both have four absences in a row a piece.

Congratulations to our newest members Ron Fairbanks and Tim McCormick. Good luck, Ron and Tim, for this and future fishing seasons.

Kevin Simmons has club hats available for $10.

We currently have $370 in the "Fish-Off" pot for October.

The Special Fund is up to $1321. Thanks to everyone who has helped to get this fund together. Wally has decided that there is enough money in the fund for right now and we will have no more auctions or raffles until we need to build the fund back up.

There is a total of $1108 in the "BooRay" pot for a 6 lb bass.

Mack Cramer is still doing boat and trailer repairs for anyone that is interested.

The Hawg Hunters had another fried mullet get together at Lake Seminole. (Lessons Learned: make sure there is no water left in the french fry bag.) The Hawg Hunters are planning on chicken for Lake Martin, contact Mack Cramer for any suggestions.

February Tournament:

The February tournament was held on Lake Seminole out of Seminole Lodge Landing. There were 25 Hawg Hunters present to fish for the weekend. High hopes were in the air, of catching a six pound fish to clear out the "Boo- Ray" pot. There were many deals cut between partners such as: splitting the pot between the boat. There was a front that was passing through that made it very windy, overcast and chilly for Saturday. Sunday cleared out after the very foggy start. As soon as the sun rose it burnt the fog off and made the day very comfortable. The air temperatures ranged from low 30's to upper 60's for the weekend. The water level was about a foot low which made it difficult to get into some areas. Many of the Hawg Hunters made there way to the Lake the day before to get in a little practice. There were mixed results from everyone. One thing that was definitely figured out, was that wherever you fished you were going to have company all day long. There was a BFL tournament launching out of Wingates on Saturday morning. Hawg Hunters own Rich Cornelius was competing in it. On Saturday morning "Blinky" handed the duties of blasting everyone off to Jim Bailey Jr. Everyone blasted off with pretty much the whole field going up the "Hooch".

January Tournament:

The day turned out to be very tough fishing with most of the fish being caught on flukes, floating worms, slow rolled spinner baits and Texas rigged worms. Only half the field was able to put anything in the livewell. Once the scales closed there 24 fish weighed for 39.25 lbs.
Brian Metcalf came in with three fish for 8.25 lbs and the lunker for the day weighing 4.65 lbs to take the lead. Dwayne Mills brought in three bass weighing in at 7.10 lbs, to take over second place. John Buck was also able to put three fish in the livewell weighing 4.90 lbs for third place. Neil Springstead weighed in three fish for 4.00 lbs. Mike Tyson had two fish for 3.45 lbs, and Mitch Gardner two fish for 2.65 lbs to round out the top six. Saturday evening was a great fish fry, thanks goes out for everyones efforts in putting it together. Sunday morning started out very chilly with frost on everything and very foggy. Brian Metcalf staying near sight of the launch all day was able to get three fish weighing 5.95 lbs to take his Carolina rig. Kevin Simmons came in with the lunker for the day, 3.90 lbs. Dwayne Mills brought two fish in for 3.30 lbs. After all the tallying was done and checked a few times and the errors corrected; Thanks Pete for help in finding the error.

Brian Metcalf with six fish for a total weight of 14.20 lbs was first. Dwayne Mills with five fish for 10.40 lbs was second and Mike Tyson with four fish for 6.65 lbs came in third.

January Tournament:

With the tough conditions, there were only seven Hawg Hunters that were able to put anything in the livewell on both days of fishing. The weekend was very troublesome for a few Hawg Hunters, we had one member blow his engine and another drop his trailer through a hole in the grate at the launch. As one of the members put it, "Team Bass Cat took the tournament". Congratulations goes to Brian Metcalf for the win. Great job fishing a very tough tournament to everyone.
