Minutes of the Meeting:

The August 2002 meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. on August 21, 2002. The meeting was held at the Seafood Shanty on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Kevin Simmons. There were 26 members present, and one
guest, Stacy Blackburn.

A reminder to the Hawghunters,
the picnic is set for Sept. 29th
and the pinic site is reserved.

time, so let's do it again this year.

New Business:

September is the month to submit change proposal's to the club constitution and or club and fish-off rules. These rules must be in writing and will be discussed at the September meeting. There will be
no discussion at the October mtg.
Volunteers for the nominating
committee are Wally Cassiano and Brian Metcalf. If anyone is
interested in running for office
for the upcoming 2003 season
please notfy Kevin Wally or Brian.
The following members are not eligible for the 2002 fish-off:

Bob Hanson

Excluding next month's tour-
nament, the following members
are eligible for the fish-off but will owe an equivalent fee:

Panhandle Redneck

August Tournament:

The August tournament was held on the Tensaw River out of the Hubbard's Landing. There were 23 Hawg Hunters and 1 guest present to fish at safe daylight.
Again the Hawghunters had
a 2p.m. weighin, and most were
very happy to have it, like July,
it was a barn-burner. At blast off
time, most Hawghunters headed
south hoping to make the day
worth-while, the tide was incoming but the water had a good clarity to it. There was a very slight breeze later in the morning and if you were in a position to feel it, it felt great. The fishing on the Tensaw the last few month's have been really tough and this day was no exception. Come weigh-in time
the bags of fish told the story.
There were a lot of fish caught
from what everyone said, but the
keeper bass were few.



Rich Cornelius was able to skunk
the board with a five fish keeper limit of 5.60 lbs. Not a whopping big number but enough to take
1st place for the day.



Congradulations to Frank
Kelly for catching the big fish for
the day, a 2.8 pounder, and also
finishing in 2nd place for the
tournament.
There was not a single dead fish weighed in, a good job to all those who brought fish to the scales, considering how hot it was.
