Upper Bryants Landing
June 14, 1997
The Day was Hot! The Pensacola Hawg Hunters June tournament took them to the Upper Bryants Landing on the Tensaw River. The day started out Cool and became quite hot around midday. The Water was still high from the previous weeks rain and a southern wind wasn't helping to get the water out! It was hot. The water being high was, as you can guess Muddy. We had 22 members and one guest fishing, 10 Anglers were able to bring 17 fish to the scales for a total weight of 26.85 pounds! Yours truly was in the lead for a short time with two fish weighing 2.15 pounds. ( I was the first to weigh in, Ha!) The leader board changed quickly with Top Honors and big fish going to Jere Jaillite with big fish weighing in at 2.75 and total weight of 5.80. Congratulations to Jere on a hard days work! His partner John Schaeff was there to grab third place honors with three fish weighing 3.90 pounds. Second place honors went to Kevin Simmons with three fish weighing in at 4.70 pounds. Our club will be going to Boat Yard next month, hopefully the water will drop by then. Did I mention it was HOT!
