Fishing Reports And Articles On Lower Alabama Rivers
Pre-Fishing And Courtesy
How many times have you been pre-fishing and found good fish? But when your tournament comes around there is someone on the fish that you had worked so hard to find. Pre-fishing can help you or hinder you, it just depends on what you are looking for during pre-fishing. Most anglers try to find patterns.
Just remember that the pattern that you establish may not be good for the next day. The most important thing is to find fish. Once you have found fish, pay attention to detail and you can learn many things that you will enable you to put fish in the boat for your tournament. During your tournament work the fish that you have found. Don't get discouraged if you can't seem to do anything right, try different things such as slowing or speeding up retrieve, different baits, shallower or deeper water, or even coming back to the fish later. Sooner or later the fish will turn on and then you will put fish in your live well.
If someone takes you fishing and shows you fish to have some fun catching, don't let everyone know that you know where fish are. It should be common courtesy that those fish are for the person that showed you. Use the knowledge that you learned on that day of fishing and try to find some good fish for yourself. There are plenty of areas on the river that you should be able to find good fish of your own. This is the reason that many areas become community holes in a matter of weeks. Keep the areas to yourself and just have fun on the water. Remember always be safe and make the most out the day of fishing.
