Tensaw River
Cliff's Landing

As usual we found the coldest day of the week which also followed a low pressure frontal system to put our fishing skills to the test. And test it did!

Nineteen of us brave soles ventured out on the Tensaw from Cliffs landing. Some went North but most went South. McReynolds was my choice and I found some fish early putting two small ones in the boat in the first 30 minutes, then the other tournaments let loose and boats were wall to wall. I have never seen so many rude fishermen in my life. First they would wash you out with their wake then shut down 15 yards in front of you! Some even had the audacity to ask how I was catching fish. I left and ran North to Tensaw lake where I proceeded to loose fish on crankbaits the rest of the day.

Weigh in was not a happy site…everyone was tired of fighting the 20-30 mph wind and the fishing had not been good. Rich had problems from the start, lost his stern light, trolling motor quit, and he was not a good guide for his partner Wayne. He did manage to put two keepers in the boat which just upset Wayne even more.

The fish that were caught were caught mostly on worms and soft plastics or crankbaits. Lee finished third with 6 fish that weighed 7.69 pounds, South. Troy went North to take second with 7 fish weighing 9.64 and first time winner Walter went North to take 4 nice fish weighing 9.85 on crankbait.

I know this sounds like the same ol' story and I guess it is. I also know we are all ready for Spring, warm weather and feeding fish!!

Keep Your Line Wet !!

Fred
